TK Homes is a small, local residential building company that takes on a variety of building work in sunny Tauranga and the surrounding areas, and we are proud members of the New Zealand Certified Builders Association. We have experience in a range of building projects, from new builds to renovations - we do it all! Here at TK Homes, we believe that remaining a small building company will ensure we can maintain a good reputation for being reliable and producing high quality work. By not taking on too many jobs at once, you can rest assured every aspect of your job will be thoroughly covered and done in a timely manner. Meet Our Team!
Tom Gerrard
Director & Licensed Builder
Tom is a qualified, Licensed Building Practitioner who has been in the residential building industry for over 13 years. He founded TK Homes (NZ) LTD in December 2018. Tom completed his carpentry apprenticeship in Auckland before moving to Tauranga with his wife, Kate. He has a passion for quality building, and prides himself on his reliability and workmanship.
Tom is originally from England and moved to New Zealand as a teenager. After gaining his citizenship, Tom considers himself a true Kiwi! In his spare time, he enjoys dirt biking, football and catching up with mates, but his favourite is spending time with his three young daughters!
Tom is the friendly face of the company and he deals with quoting, project managing and you will often find him on the tools. He looks forward to meeting you to help with all your building needs!

Kieran Scullin
Apprentice Builder
We welcomed Kieran to TK Homes in mid-2021 as a first year carpentry apprentice, after he came to his senses and switched from a plumbing apprenticeship! Kieran grew up in Hamilton before moving to Tauranga and attending Tauranga Boys College. Kieran really enjoys building and is working hard to be qualified!
When Kieran's not on site, you will find him gaming and also going to Rotorua Redwoods to mountain bike.
Kate Gerrard
Business Administrator
Kate works behind the scenes in the office keeping the company running smoothly. She is your go to contact for any questions or queries you may have regarding administration matters such as accounts or consents.
When Kate is not working in the office, you will find her being a mumma to her and Tom's three young daughters, Rosie, Ivy and Holly.
